Technical

Q: Which browsers do you recommend for viewing your site?
A: Our site is designed for viewing with most browsers, including Internet Explorer in Microsoft Windows, Safari Apple Macintosh OS X, and Firefox on both PC’s and Macs. AOL users will have best results using AOL 8 and above in Microsoft Windows. To optimize your online experience, we recommend that you use one of these browsers. Other browsers may not support all of our site’s features.

Q: I tried accessing parts of your site and received an error message about the page not being found. What does this mean?
A: We may have moved a page that you had previously bookmarked. Our “Not Found” page includes a search to look for the missing item.

Q: What are “cookies,” and does your Web site use them?
A: A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive containing information about you. Cookies cannot access files or other information stored on your computer. We use cookies to enable certain personalized features and content within the following areas of this site:

Q: I’m using AOL and some of your images look grainy. How can I improve this?
A: AOL has default settings to compress images. This improves the speed of download but diminishes the quality of the images. If you wish to change this: On AOL 5, 6 or 7 for Microsoft Windows: This varies slightly by AOL version, but go to Settings (or MyAOL), then Preferences, then Internet Properties WWW (or just www). On the resulting dialog box, select the Web Graphics tab and disable the “compress graphics” checkbox. On AOL 5 for Macintosh OS: Go to My AOL, then Preferences, then www. In the Web Preferences section of the resulting page, disable the checkbox to “use compressed graphics.” In each case, the change takes place immediately, but you may not notice this on pages you’ve already viewed. As you select new pages of the site, you will see the higher quality images.
